To mark the 90th anniversary of the beginning of excavations at Teleilat Ghassul, our Institute organised an anniversary lecture on Tuesday 3rd December 2019. The lecture, entitled The Legacy of Teleilat Ghassul, was delivered by Fr Josef Mario Briffa SJ, archaeologist, who is responsible for our museum and archaeological collection.

The lecture focused primarily on the archaeological archive of Ghassul held by the Institute — the photographic collection, finds registration, plans and drawings, etc. — and the potential for further research that these offer to archaeologist who aim to further investigate the Chalcolithic period.
