Archive

Undoubtedly the most important part of the legacy is the archive of the archaeological expedition to Teleilat Ghassul. The archive witnesses to the increasingly detailed and meticulous record keep on the part of the Jesuit Fathers of the Institute. The major part of this archive is held by our Institute in Jerusalem; another part is housed in the archives of the Institute in Rome.

The excavation archive in Jerusalem can be divided into a number of sections:


Watercolours

Most fascinating are the watercolours which copied the frescoes found at Ghassul, and provide perhaps the closest record to the finds as experienced by the excavators.
