Oggi, il giorno di Pentecoste, comincia una nuova fase della nostra storia e della nostra missione. Insieme al Collegium Maximum ed Pontifical Oriental Institute , il Pontificio Istituto Biblico da oggi costituisce la Pontificia Università Gregoriana , con nuovi statuti.

Un invito forte che ci chiede di lavorare sempre più in sinergia, portando forze e sensibilità diverse, che fedeli alle nostre rispettive missioni, ci permette di completarci a vicenda, sempre a servizio della Chiesa Universale, come lo siamo dalla fondazione del Collegio Romano da S. Ignazio di Loyola nel 1551.

Invochiamo lo Spirito Santo su tutti noi, perché infiammi i nostri cuori nel servizio della Parola di Dio, per il bene della Chiesa.

Veni, Sancte Spíritus, / et emítte cǽlitus / lucis tuæ rádium.

Today, Pentecost, starts a new phase of our history and our mission. Alongside the Collegium Maximum and the Pontifical Oriental Institute, the Pontifical Biblical Institute, as of today, constitutes the Pontifical Gregorian University, with new statutes. A powerful invitation that requires us to work ever more in synergy, bringing different strengths and sensibilities which, while remaining faithful to our respective missions, helps us to complement each other, always at the service of the Universal Church, as we have been since the foundation of the Roman College by St Ignatius of Loyola in 1551.

Let us invoke the Holy Spirit on us all, that the Spirit may inflame our hearts at the service of the Word of God, for the good of the Church.
