After four months in Jerusalem, the students of the Pontifical Biblical Institute have now completed the joint-programme with the Hebrew University. To mark the occasion, an end-of-term ceremony was held at the Rothberg International School on 28 January 2020, presided over by Prof. Noam Shoval, Provost of the Rothberg School, and Fr Michael Kolarcik SJ, Rector of the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. On this visit, Fr Michael was accompanied by Fr Henry Pattarumadathil SJ, the Dean of the Biblical Faculty.
In her introduction, Na’ama Shpeter, Administrative Director of the Graduate school, spoke of the value of studying in Jerusalem, and the long-term relationship between the PBI and the Rothberg School. Her sentiments were echoed by the Provost of the School, and the Rector of the PBI, who also reminisced about his own experience participating the Jerusalem programme several years back. One of our students, Fr Augustin Abiagom then expressed a few words of thanks on behalf of the whole group.
