Joint Study day with HUC

A joint study day, held on Monday 2 December, provided an opportunity of encounter for the students of the Pontifical Biblical Institute and those of Israeli Rabbinic Program at Hebrew Union College.

The day started with the morning service (Shacharit) led by HUC students, and was followed by a number of sessions, touching upon Sacred Scripture, liturgy, archaeology, work of clergy, as well as the relationship between Judaism, Christianity and Islam. A concluding moment of prayer was led by the PBI students — modelled on Evening Prayer, and reflecting the very diverse and multilingual nature of our student group.

The positive feedback from the participants — from both the PBI and the HUC — highlighted how engaging such encounters may be, and how important it is to seek and promote similar opportunities of conversation and shared experience.
